President’s Message

“A lamp cannot light another lamp unless it keeps its own flame burning.”

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Well-wishers,

The Saraswati Welfare Society was registered in 1993 with a singular, strong desire: to serve and uplift society by providing quality education to those who need it most. I have always believed that a nation truly progresses only when its most neglected citizens become educated and independent. This vision led to the birth of our first institution, Saraswati Vidya Mandir English High School at Kolsewadi, Kalyan (E) in 1993.

Our Journey of Growth

From our humble beginnings in the Anandwadi slum area, we have witnessed remarkable milestones:

  • 2001: Saw our first batch of secondary students, marking a period of rapid growth for the Society.
  • 2007: We achieved another cherished dream by establishing our second institution, Holy Cross English High School at Nandivali Gaon, Kalyan (E).
  • 2014: We expanded into higher education with the commencement of Junior College for Arts, Science, and Commerce.

A New Chapter: Minority Status Recognition

I am proud to share that our commitment to the Malayalam-speaking community has been officially recognized. The Government of Maharashtra has conferred the status of Malayalam Linguistic Minority Educational Institutionupon the Saraswati Welfare Society and both its managed schools. This certification, granted under the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Act, 2004, is a validation of our efforts to preserve our cultural heritage while striving for academic excellence.

Our Promise for the Future

For over three decades, the trust has rendered tireless contributions to the upliftment of society. We realize that this journey has just started. To satisfy our students’ unquenchable thirst for knowledge, we are continuously modernizing our facilities—including the integration of digital learning tools—to ensure our scholars can conquer the horizons of wisdom.

I extend my deepest gratitude to our Headmistresses, dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and well-wishers who have stood by me as pillars of strength. Together, let us continue to provide a light of hope for the next generation.

With best wishes and prayers,

Shri Arjun K. Nair President,
Saraswati Welfare Society
